**NOTICE TO ALL RESIDENTS OF CLONGRIFFIN. WE HAVE A MAJOR ISSUE IN BELLTREE / PARK EDGE BLOCK 2 WITH RESIDENTS FLUSHING WIPES DOWN THE TOILETS. **

This has caused drains to become blocked and is causing foul odours in the development.

Gannon Homes have had the drains jetted today and will be doing so again tomorrow to reslove these issues at a huge expense.

All members of the public are urged not to put wipes down the toilet even if some are “wrongly” labelled flushable. A single wet wipe is enough to cause a blockage and could cause catastrophic flooding in your home causing significant distress and cost. While the majority of people do the right thing and dispose of wipes in the bin, there are still some that are unknowingly risking damage to their family homes.

All residents are also advised not to pour turkey fat, gravy and other leftovers down the plughole at Christmas (or at any time) as they can cause fat, oil and grease to build up in the sewer, blocking it. There are only 3 things that should be flushed down a toilet, 2 are obvious and the 3rd being toilet paper. Everything else should either be recycled, if your local council provides this service, or put in your bin.
