The homes are proposed to be developed in two apartment blocks on land the Agency acquired in December 2023. In total, the Clongriffin Town land has the potential to deliver more than 2,300 affordable and social homes in addition to community facilities and cultural premises. As part of the initial development phase, the LDA is seeking approval for 408 high-quality, A rated one, two and three bed apartments, with community and cultural spaces being provided on the ground floors of both blocks. Landscaped courtyards, a roof terrace, a 1,433 square metre public park and a creche are also included n the proposals. All of the apartments will be made available as cost rental (c. 90%) and social (c. 10%) homes.
Planning permission was already in place for new homes on the Clongriffin Town site when it was acquired by the LDA. The Agency is now making a revised planning application to Dublin City Council with a broadly identical development taking into account new objectives and policies outlined in the Dublin City Development Plan 2022-2028, including the provision of community and cultural spaces.
